Error: The Help Viewer application requires QuickTime 3.0 to run

When I try to open the Companion, I get an error message saying "The Help Viewer application requires QuickTime 3.0 to run."

Solution

The Companions require certain Apple system software to operate: Help Viewer, QuickTime, AppleGuide and AppleScript.
If you are using a public beta of QuickTime 5, this will eventually expire and produce the QuickTime error when you try to open the Companion. You will need to upgrade to the latest release of QuickTime from the Apple web site.
QuickTime web site
www.apple.com/quicktime
Try reinstalling QuickTime in case one of the components has become corrupted or the QuickTime extension(s) are disabled.
