Help Me
The Companion doesn't show up in the Help menu of the application

When I go to the Help menu of the application the Companion isn't listed. For example, the After Effects Companion isn't listed After Effects' Help menu.

Solution

Have you reinstalled your application software?
When the Companion is installed it places some support software in the folder with the application. If the application is reinstalled this support software will need to be reinstalled (but you won't need to reinstall the whole Companion).
1 Insert the Companion CD-ROM and run the installer.
2 Choose Custom install from the pop-up menu.
3 Click the Install Support software checkbox "on", then click the Install button.
Do you have an early version of the After Effects Companion (produced before November 2000)?
There is a known issue with some early After Effects Companions that prevents the Companion appearing in the After Effects Help menu.
We have created an installer that fixes this issue.
1 Download the updater archive from our ftp site.
Download the After Effects Companion Updater (280 K Stuffit archive)
2 Unstuff the installer using Stuffit Expander (if it isn't unstuffed automatically by your internet software).
Note: To unstuff this file you may need the free Stuffit Expander software for Mac, Windows and Linux.
3 Quit After Effects if it is running.
4 Run the installer.
5 Click the Install button.
Do you want to use the Media 100 Companion with Media 100 i?
Because the application's name has been changed to "Media 100 i", the Media 100 Companion installer won't find the application to install the Companion in its Help menu. The forthcoming Media 100 i Companion will resolve this issue. Until then...
We have created an installer that will install the Media 100 Companion into the Media 100 i Help menu.
1 Download the updater archive from our ftp site.
Download the Media 100 i Help menu Installer (258 K Stuffit archive)
2 Unstuff the installer using Stuffit Expander (if it isn't unstuffed automatically by your internet software).
Note: To unstuff this file you may need the free Stuffit Expander software for Mac, Windows and Linux.
3 Quit Media 100 i if it is running.
4 Run the installer.
5 Click the Install button.
