Los Angeles, December 4, 2001

In the wake of Apple's announcement of Final Cut Pro 3, Intelligent Assistance, Inc. are happy to announce that the Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 (also known as the DV Companion) is expected to ship at MacWorld San Francisco in January 2002.

The Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 will be completely revised and substantial additional content is being added to cover the new features in Final Cut Pro 3 including the Boris Calligraphy generators.

The Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 will be completely remade into the totally new, custom developed Intelligent Assistant software interface. The new Intelligent Assistant software will allow users to explore a fully functional preview version of the Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 before committing to purchase. The technology is in place to allow the purchase of basic content, tutorials and creative ideas or comprehensive Troubleshooting guide independently - all with a simple Activation code.

The Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 relies on no external browsers and is completely self contained. It operates in a resizable window that is floating over the application making it exceptionally easy to follow Tutorial, creative ideas, basic steps or troubleshooting.

As well as a demo mode, the new technology means that an OS X version of The Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 will be available Q1 2002. The Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 will include a unique technology for instantly updating the Intelligent Assistant over the Internet, whether to add an ever-increasing number of tutorials and keep up with user needs OR to add new and improved functionality to the Intelligent Assistant software itself.

In addition to being more extensively illustrated than typical help applications, The Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 will include more than 3 hours of narrated video instruction. Many of the movies are interactive QuickTime, and all movies are based on QuickTime Sprite animations to keep the size small but the quality exceptionally high.

When Activated, or during the trial period, the Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 will features a simplified three level structure with the added bonus that, at the basic Task level, users can swap between narrated movies or text panels on a step-by-step basis.

Strategies are the broadest level, offering overviews of processes and providing context. Topics for Strategies are general, such as "video filters", "Shape Tracks" or "Shadows". Techniques are focused on the work that you want to get done. A Strategy on Shadows will lead to Techniques on How2 Apply Shadows and How2 Animate Shadows. Strategies and Techniques can be displayed in a larger "overview" window or smaller "follow along" window.

Tasks are the most specific level of Intelligent Assistance and always offered in a smaller window. Tasks are the level at which 3 hours of movies are provided, although the user always has the choice to view any step as movie or text form. The movies combine the advantage of animated visuals with narration. Seeing the exact location of controls, and how they act, while hearing them described makes it easier to learn how to perform task and makes it easier to remember: see, hear and do.

The Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 is currently in development and expect to ship at MacWorld in January 2002. All new purchasers of the current DV Companion - The Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 2 after December 4, will be automatically upgraded to the Intelligent Assistant for Final Cut Pro 3 when it ships if they have registered with Intelligent Assistance.
